EXTRA TRICKS

If you go to the website Couponmom.com it gives you a really simple way to file and find deals.  Some of the things I have learned is
1.      Make up a separate free email just for coupon stuff
2.     When your in line at walmart, etc.  look for a cashier who is younger.  Generally they seem to not be such a stick in the mud on some coupons.  (most of the time you can get the smallest size for the coupon- EVEN IF ITS BELOW THE SIZE REQUIREMENTS ON THE COUPON).  Today I had Yoplait yogurt coupon for $0.50 off a family size container.  I bought 4 reg size yogurts (normally $0.58/ea on sale w/ tom thumb ad for $0.50/ea) and gave the family size coupon and it worked. I paid nothing for them. This happens a lot.  If it’s the same product normally the cashier will not look at the size.  (unless you have a mean granny cashier who is watching every little fine print).  I have also noticed if you have some small talk with them its better.  Talk about anything and they will not be so inclined to be jerks.  I also apologize before we ever get started.  Something along the lines of “I’m sorry, I know these coupons & sales can be a hassle… I’m just trying to save for my family”.
3.     Find out the stores that triple/double coupons.   Tom thumb does double and triple up to $1.00.  so many things like ketchup, mustard, etc goes on sale for $1.
4.     Buy one get one free.  Dove had deodorant BOGO free.  They were originally $2.99.  On sale for $1.99 & its was buy one get one free.  I had several $1.00 off dove deodorant coupons.  So for each set (2) I paid nothing.  When its BOGO you just split the cost from $1.99/ea to $0.99/ea.  With the $1.00 off coupon its free.  I paid nothing on 8 sticks of deodorant.  Seems like a lot to buy but they don’t go bad and it doesn’t take up too much room.
I guess when I think I use to do all this shopping and never look at these prices I was getting robbed.  I could have gotten so much stuff for free!
